Chronoswiss

Guys and Gals,

I'm interested in the collective opinion of our watch community about Chronoswiss. Of course, I know the history of the brand, how it started, what movements it used, etc. At the very beginning of my watch-collecting journey, I was even offered it as a jumping-off point... Later on, I drooled over the skeletonized opus, etc. Eventually, the brand left its better days behind, then changed hands and nowadays is trying to find itself anew with new colorful designs. The brand that was all about traditional watchmaking is now making funky watches. In this respect, a parallel could be drawn with Roger Dubuis with its earlier more classically inspired vs current excalibur lines.

But my question is more about where its old offerings would cross-compare with other brands. Looking at classical kairos vs a classical Breguet, you almost cant think that one is an homage to the other. Of course, it is not an homage brand because it has done so many firsts in the watch industry but the thought nevertheless crosses one's mind.... In General, who would be their head-to-head competitors? Where would it rank on the so-called prestige or tier level that's so popular these days?

Of course there is always more to say. I can afford it but I want to know it vs something else! Need some perspective!

What Chronoswiss may lack in case design is more than offset by dial style and desirable functions.

Just can say that I always liked them very much, (like this one) and don't like the turn around of the last years.

I like their designs especially the regulator, but I find the brand name clashes. The designs are very classical, while the English "Chronoswiss" is very late 20th century.

It just leaps out at me whenever I look at one of the dials.

Chronographe Suisse would be fine but that's been used already.

Is it enough though for street-cred (collector cred)?

Given that these watches are in limited editions of fifty pieces per release plus the beautiful dials, Chronoswiss watches are very collectible.

I don't know what movements are used or whether they make the movements. So my outlook is based on the "exotic" nature of the complications and dial displays. I like the look of the designs. They're stunning.

Oh. I don't know what these watches are priced at.
