NEW POSSIBLE ROLEX 2022 LEAK

Image taken from @Chronohunter on Instagram

It looks like those sworn to secret in Geneva may have had some loose lips. We may have a possible new Rolex model leak for the 2022 year.

-Rose gold Submariner with blue dial

-President in rose gold and blue dial

-41mm Hulk

-Daytona with a solid bezel in either Steel or platinum

-Bringing back the discontinued black bear GMT master on jubilee

what would this mean for existing models if this is leak is true? Thoughts on bringing back the Hulk, IIRC that was an anniversary model So could we be looking at another anniversar or a cash grab on the green popularity?

I tend to prefer oyster to jubilee but gosh that GMT looks nice on the jubilee!

Exciting time of the year folks! Excited to hear your thoughts!

Interesting.  I like the blue DD.  I was hoping they'd never bring back the Hulk.  I'd like to see the value on that one go up some more  for selfish reasons of course.

From what I remember last year they started offering both the Batman and Pepsi with the option of either oyster or jubilee bracelets. If they bring back the black GMT I would imagine they would do the same. I really like the jubilee, but I feel the point of the black GMT is to be a little more discreet, so a oyster would fit better in my opinion

Yeah this would be kind of a F-You to those who have the prev hulk. I guess making it 1mm larger makes it different enough. Money Green is a Very popular color.

you make a great point about being discreet! The black GMT does have a more elusive aesthetic whlike the jubilee is more of a “hey! look at me“ feel.

I agree that an oyster bracelet suits the black bezel GMT better than a jubilee - seems more in keeping with the overall style of the watch IMHO.

Agree, I think they would bring it back with both jubilee and oyster available. With new mvt, this would be the one to get now over the mk1. Same for the Hulk if it comes back with new case and mvt, the one to get. Expect that grey dealers will try to pump the mk1 but the consumer will decide on price levels. Another topic of conversation, actual production of units. With the world supply chains slowly coming back, I would expect inventory levels to get slightly better, and hopefully all those on wait lists will start to see some light. Albeit, you will have to pay the new price increase, but still it's rrp instead of the grey mkt.

That Daytona is absolutely stunning. The colour is sporty yet elegant. Hard thing to pull off.

Yeah I think the secondary market needs to decide what the MK1 $ will end up trading for. However we know the flippers will try to boost up the cost.  Interesting comment on the supply chain. I’m one that thinks this won’t change the availability too much. Rolex has set a standard and still selling almost every model that lands in AD’s

For sure there is pump and dump activities that happen. I believe that dealers marginally inflate the prices amongst themselves rather than actual end users creating the demand. So that argument of supply and demand drives the price is artificial. When one dealer rises a marginal price the next dealer does likewise. What happens is the end users believe that is the real market price and end up buying rather than going on a waitlist. I've seen too many posts where the q is resale value (when I got into collecting 20+ yrs ago, I never bought on resale value). So these buyers are hedgers, buying and wearing expecting to get or make money on these hyped pieces in recent yrs.

With regard to the supply chain, even last year I got a new Cermit within 6mths from an AD. I must admit there was some luck, but the pieces are there, it just depends on what type of AD you have and what type of customer you are (btw I was not a high spender), I  did buy another watch and identified myself as a collector and returned to the AD wearing the same watch I had bought there months earlier. Now that AD has virtually no R in it's cases mayb a solid Gold ladies etc. So I believe the supply chain will get better but will not translate to visible pieces in cases... Happy hunting all!

The black bear GMT master on jubilee looks very nice! But how long you should wait for it? The waiting time and the increasing price are Rolex "specials"...
