As a man of modest means, I collect quality (and some shite) watches on a budget, however, my passion for watch collecting is insatiable, despite my lack of wealth, breeding and good taste.
I found an automatic watch on a jeweller's dump on a vacant block of ground near where I grew up as a kid. Without knowing what I was doing, I got it working and I've been fascinated by watches ever since.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
I can't remember the brand (see the first question), but my second was a Pulsar.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Not really. When they get a little beaten up, I tend to give them away to younger guys who are interested in watches.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don't ask me because I've probably made all the mistakes. Hell, I collected Fossil for years.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Hamilton, Glycine & Longines.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
An Omega Speedmaster. I love astronomy and I collect meteorite and impactite specimens, therefore, the Apollo mission connection triggers my horological lust.
