Hi Jeff! Always learning indeed. There are custom NATO's going up on the site soon and "single layer" velcro straps. It was a long battle between us all on sizes and velcro vs buckle - ultimately we'll solve by simply having options. Reach out via email and we'll happily send you a suite of the other straps to try.

Yeah, it was always a concern, and our kids are masters of this art of loss as well. We're been happy to see them actually grasp that something is "special" though. Not always! But the since of importance and care is slowly growing.

In the BK31 we do have lume right at the tip of both hands. The hands were TRICKY. To maximize battery life, the rotating mass (and unbalance) of the hands has to be minimized. It meant that we could only afford to have that tiny bit of lume weight in the hands. A fun conundrum.
