Glad that finally someone talked about this. I am from India, a country where a normal middle class man earns around 40000-80000 rupees a month. Just for reference a Seiko presage costs about 50000 here. As a watch collector coming from a similar background, in my current position, a Seiko presage is luxury, dreaming about watches like omega and Rolex is similar to a Honda civic owner dreaming about a Bugatti. Luxury for me has a completely different definition that most of the western watch enthusiasts
Do I dream about owning a rolex- yes
Will I ever own one- probably no
Will I get the same amount of pleasure buying a presage that a rolex- enthusiast gets while buying a new rolex- definitely yes
