Interesting comparison. I just assumed it was a tribute to many such cushion-shaped military watches of the 1930s. After doing a little digging prompted by your comment I discovered that Longines introduced a watch called the Heritage 1935 in 2014. I can't find an exact date for the release of the Bulova but the earliest I see it being discussed among watch enthusiasts is mid 2015. The Bulova is almost identical to the Heritage 1935 (without the small seconds). The Pilot Majetek was introduced in 2023. It has a rotating bezel and an with a luminous pointer that the other two lack. Of course, the Longines are Swiss with mechanical movements and significantly more expensive than my Bulova. Thanks for the reference. Now I know the real back story. I also have the chronograph version. I'll wear it tomorrow.

First time seeing this bulova, looks like a majetek homage but great watch
