I did not get the call. The Rolex buying experience is non existent for me anyway. I just can't stomach the games played to own any Rolex. I paid a small premium over retail but in the end when my kids wears it in 20 years it would have been more than worth it.
Good question. For a long time I was eyeing the two tone sub (Bluesy). Sometimes I would vacillate between that and the black and gold. The price and availability were factors. But then it occurred to me that if I were to get a two-tone Submariner, it would be my second two-tone Rolex. I already have the two-tone Date Just, why not get something different. The stainless steel Sub is such a masculine watch, why pretty it up with gold? This was me coming to this realization. I still love the two-tone sub, the full on 18k gold as well. They are undoubtedly gorgeous. But I realized having this stainless steel model would compliment my collection. But I did obsess over making sure to get the ceramic bezel. I have a terrible affliction called watch collecting. This affliction has rubbed off on my wife. So I'm literally paying for two Rolexes to wear one. 🤣
