I would say yes. If you ask that tells me that you were thinking about the pros and cons. I feel pocket watches add some style more than class .Appreciation for time gone .yes cellphone are quicker to check but what showed more style?
I don't think it is any quicker to check the time on a cell phone and a pocket watch adds less distraction and more history, dignity, and style. They also force one to only deliberately check the time which is oddly freeing.
Absolutely. If you look at the prices compared to similar complications in wristwatches, you can get some crazy things for a fraction of the price. I just saw a 1916 Patek Philippe minute repeater sold this week in Hong Kong for $21,000. I know that’s a lot, but you’re talking upper six figures for a minute repeater from Patek in a wristwatch.
I think Waltham generally are very affordable, due to their survival rate. ( mass production in their day) Travellers are probably to be avoided, if they were used a lot and not serviced. 😨 I have a Riverside, I think it's a work of art, and for the price they are bargains, possibly as they're not popular / fashionable.
I was born in Eritrea, living in upstate New York, I absolutely love watches especially vintage ones, I can't explain Why I own these watches, the only thing I can say is This is definitely my Passion.
