My dad, Uncle, and Grandpa all collect antique pocket watches. I grew up around them, and occasional summer trips to watch shows and conventions. Once as I got a decent paying internship in college, and I was stuck at home during Covid, I slipped down the rabbit hole.
I honestly just pull back both of my sleeves out of habit (started in highschool because I wore bracelets).
A fantastic watch. I have had the grey dial since just after they came out. Still in love (older photo).
As a budding Seiko collector, this is beyond awe-inspiring. Never heard of the 7016-5001 "Monaco" before... NOW I NEED ONE—what a fantastic watch box.
Coming back to say thanks for pointing all of that out. Looks like I've paid a little bit for the impulse purchase 😕... that said, I'll still wear and enjoy it! Now I just have a new mission to find an original dial (if that's possible).
