Pagani 1751 Ranger

So far so good. The watch looks incredible for it's price point. The bad: The springbars on the lug are IMPOSSIBLE to take off. I wanted to try on a canvas strap to see how I would look with the strap, but to no avail. I poked and prodded and they would not budge. The springbars seem to be locked in with cement! Same with the bars on the clasp for microadjusting. Fortunately the 3 piece bracelet comes with screws which were very easy to take off and I was able to fit my 7 inch wrist after removing some sections perfectly. The PD1751 is a bit tall on the top, thickness of almost 13 inches, but it wears incredibly well and light due to its 36mm diameter. All in all I am a very happy camper. It feels like a proper tool watch, like you are wearing your dad's or grandpa's old Tudor Ranger or Rolex Explorer. A definite "test drive" for those looking to someday own a proper Explorer or Ranger, but are not too sure of the simple tool aesthetics of those watches and cannot fork "Duck Tails" money to try them out. This watch actually makes me want to save up and someday buy a proper Ranger or Explorer I. I hope everyone enjoys the post and has a great week!

Thickness of almost 13 inches?

Holy cow it must b hard to put under a cuff 😂

Reddit has a few mentions of spring bar issues with PD. Over different models. It may be an issue with that bit of Pagani finishing.

There is a video on YouTube about how to remove fixed spring bars. It's just over six minutes long.

My first thought was a microdose of WD40 🤣

Any point of involving the store that sold your Ranger?

Hopefully you work it out.😎

yep, they don't call them tool watches for nothing! If this was slimmer, it would perfectly fit as a dress watch, due to the simple dial and 36mm diameter...

I'm happy as it is. I got if for 60 bucks brand new from Ali Express. At that price, if it was a lemon, I'd just chuck it and learn my lesson from buying from Evil Chinese Empire store! But I was happily impressed by the smooth transaction, shipping to continental US in about 5 days. For that price, you can take the chance and pull the trigger. Worst case, you lost the value of a big lunch!

You need one of these. It makes removing bracelet spring bars easy by depressing both sides simultaneously. About $15 on amz.

Exactly the same 💬 for me when my Carnival and 1986 calendar watch died three months in.

It wasn't worth the bother to send back.

And the months indicator on my supposed annual calendar movement had to be manually advanced.🤨

I haven't been back to Chinese brands. I can't afford mistakes.

This was my first time buying Chinese. I've just recently started collecting, but I was wearing Seikos since forever, before I even knew how sought out they were. I just learned that my SKX009 for which I paid about $170 on amazon 10 years ago is now worth about a grand on Ebay. That got me seriously thinking about collecting and about the usefulness, value and sentimentality that a wristwatch can hold. I actually looked at my amazon account and I remembered I bought an SKX173 in 2006 that is missing somewhere in my house! Just recently, I decided on buying my first Swiss automatic, a Glycine GMT GL0380. Now I've gotten the bug. I set my eyes on a Tudor Ranger or Rolex Explorer, but I am not willing to fork out all that money unless I am absolutely sure I would love those kinds of tool watches. I bought the Pagani as a "feeler", see how it looks on the wrist, etc. I am definitely going to start working towards my Ranger now.

It needs to be as little as 11 inches to get under the cuff 😜
