I got into watches thanks to my former college professor who is now more like family. His passion for watches really intrigued me to learn more and dive into my own passion for watches.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
It was a Bulova, I still own it and boy has it taken a beating over the years. It was a gift from an aunt of mine. Admittedly, I received this watch when I knew nothing of watches, especially that watch bracelets could be sized (I wore mine extra loose and it took a beating because so) and tailored to each person.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
At the moment, I would say my Orient. My Orient was gifted to me by my buddy (mentioned earlier) at his bachelor party. I was one of his groomsmen and he gifted each of us an Orient color coordinated with either our favorite colors or favorite football teams color. As a Raider fan myself, he chose black and silver for me. It's my first automatic watch and I'm truly proud to have it in my collection. The plus side is everytime I wear it, I'm riddled with nostalgia from an unforgettable bachelor party.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
As I'm still a begginer myself, I'll say to learn as much as you desire and ask questions to fellow watch enthusiasts.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Without a doubt, Hamilton. I respect their American Heritage/history.
