Restored my grandfather's Seiko 5 from the 70s.... during that process I had a good conversation with a watchsmith who lead me down the rabbit hole.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Casio calculator watch from the 80s.....same one Marty McFly had in Back to the Future.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
They all have interesting stories.... I've been marking special occasions with watch purchases for the last few years.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Take ur time..... there's no such thing as a perfect watch.....relax....start small....buy Seiko automatics, preferably Prospex......then sell them all.......A Citizen NY0040 is better than a Seiko SKX 🎤..... Casio is God Tier.... never sell your first Rolex.....No one is gonna notice ur watch or care.....No woman will ever sex u because of ur watch......This is my ONE piece of advice for anyone into this sickness.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
-Jaeger Le Coultre
-Cartier
-Ball
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
I don't have a grail watch.....I only seek the attainable....... I'm a tool watch enthusiast and a believer that Tudors are for the Working Man.
