Thanks, yes, I think I met him briefly a couple of weeks ago at the boutique in midtown. Very nice guy, but the store was busy and he was being pulled in various directions. He was trying to give everyone his attention - completely understandable. Particularly since he was handing out $6-9K watches like candy. This is a dinner that is hosted by GS with a local law firm - not sure how that works. What is the GS Miami Event and when is it?
Completely agree. The SPB could certainly work in that environment. I considered it over the BB58. Dimensions on it are great. After all, look at the modern Submariner. In South Florida where I live, it goes from the beach to the board room. The SPB's dimensions are really close, so I don't see any reason why the SPB couldn't do the same. That said, I have not seen the SPB in person.
And, to your point, I have worn my Turtle PADI edition on a blue nylon strap to the office. Completely wrong environment for that watch, but I don't care because I just felt like wearing it on those days.
You kind of read my mind. I thought that the two watches are different enough that you could actually do the Seiko (I was thinking an SPB149) and the Sinn for about the same price as the BB58. Mind you, I have a blue BB58 on a steel bracelet. I will say, however, that I love my BB58 because it is so versatile. I will never get rid of it. I wear my BB58 to the office with a shirt and tie and it works well due to its relatively small dimensions and polish for a dive watch. I don't know if the Seiko would work as well, and I don't think the Sinn would at all. Outside of that setting, any of them would be great.
