Hi folks, new guy here. I'm Adam from the North of Scotland. I bloody love watches and I have a modest collection, made up mostly of Christopher Ward,...
Good point. All this talk about the Twelve's supposed 'busy dial', which for me is nowhere near as distracting as, say, the text on a Rolex/Tudor, or the design of any open heart watch for that matter. These disrupt the flow of a dial in a way that this repeating geometric pattern simply doesn't. Look at the busy sub dials on a chronograph, or the motifs on a moon phase, then talk to me about a busy dial!
I personally think this looks great. Wears its Genta influences proudly and unashamedly on its sleeve. And, yes, it's very similar to the Czapek above. But at 1/20 of its price, the Twelve is another example of CW knocking it out of the park, design and value-wise. Modern watch design is almost entirely built upon a foundation of homage. Love this.
Not so the colouring though. As with the latest iterations of the Bel Canto, there are perhaps only 1 or 2 colour schemes that I would pay money for, the astral blue titanium being my pick of the bunch.
The Malverns were discontinued a few years back, I believe, along with the rest of their quartz output. But the original C3 and C5 were their first ever pieces; where it all began for them. They've come a long way.
Jesus Holy Christ that is a LARGE collection. You know what I love about it? The sheer eclecticism. You have the Swiss grail pieces (a lot of them I might add!), but also a load of really fun, quirky digitals too. Plus a lot of variation in between.
From this collection you strike me as a guy who loves watches more than you love garnering prestige.
Yeah; despite CW being so famously against celebrity endorsement, I'm pretty much doing it for them. Albeit I'm definitely no celebrity.
I have two C3 Malvern mk2s: one silver with brown leather (my first watch); the other charcoal dial with bracelet (probably my least worn watch). I also have a C5 Malvern, very rare I believe, perhaps mk1.5...? Cream dial on bracelet. Gorgeous. Finally I have a chunky Trident C60, mk2.5 (new name font but old teardrop hands).
