Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My Monta Triumph is my favorite watch of all time. It’s an amazing piece that punches way above its weight-class but it’s a true keeper for me because it’s been on the wrist for some of the biggest moments of my life: when I won a WSOP circuit ring, when I proposed, and most importantly when I got married.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Try things out and figure out what you like before making too many purchases.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Monta and Omega. My collection has had Rolex, Breitling, Tudor, Oris, and others populating it. While I find myself pairing things down overall, I’ve been building multiple piece collections within those two brands.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
More recently I’ve fallen hard for the Moonshine Gold Panda Speedmaster Professional. It’s just beautiful. However, my true grail is the mythical thin 40mm Grey Side of the Moon Speedmaster. It only comes in a massive 44mm case that is a towering 16mm thick, so if they ever come up with a way to make it smaller and thinner, you bet I’ll be hunting like a starved lion on the savannah. For now it’s an unattainable grail piece.
