Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I’ve always liked watches but they never felt comfortable on my wrist. That was until I finally got the watch brand I always wanted. I was so proud of it, I wore it everyday and got used to the feeling. It quickly became an obsession.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
A Swatch. It was a gift when I was a kid.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
You know how in Pulp Fiction, Christopher Walken’s character keeps a watch somewhere uncomfortable? I did the same thing for 7 months. I wasn’t hiding it. I just didn’t realize it was there. #jokes
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don’t worry about the prestige of the watch. Buy watches you want to wear. If you have the money for high-end watches, great! But where’s the fun if it just sits in a display case?
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Jack Mason, big time. I can’t wait until I have some extra cash so I can get another.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Right now: a Tag Heuer Monaco because I’m a huge Steve McQueen fan. Forever: Omega Planet Ocean because James Bond is my spirit animal.
