Any information on Black Shield

I found this old diver by Black Shield. I can't find any information on the company and am wondering if anyone may have information. It has a Seiko movement in it that Seiko specifically made for export to other companies, so I am thinking this may be a vintage micro brand. To me it looks like an homage to the original 1953 Rolex Sub and the first Eterna Kontiki. Based on the movement I think it was made in the early to mid 1970s. Any info out there?

I have one also that I received in an old watchmakers estate lot. It is a black shield with a UTC (seiko) movement. Unfortunately mine is missing the caseback. I really want to get it running again soon. I too am curious about the brand.

Very interesting and thank you for sharing. Yes mine has the Seiko UTC movement as well. Maybe more will come across this and chime in and we can gather more info. I wish the dial on mine had a little less damage to the lume on the indices.

I really love these vintage skin divers. As you can see the bezel on mine has seen better days. Also It needs a crown. I have no idea how to go about getting a caseback that fits. Any ideas? Would you mind sharing a few more pictures of your watch? Maybe pics of the inside and out of the caseback so I know what i'm looking for? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes I'll get some pics and post them. My case back is press in, not a screw in back. If yours was the same I'm actually thinking that might increase the odds that a watch repair place might be able to source the proper size diameter back even if it was off something else.

And nice that your dial is in such good shape.

I was happy about the dial too. I'll bet ur right about the caseback. Should be a little easier to find one that fits. It certainly seems like a solidly built watch. I have seen one more black shield for sale online, and I have really hunted. But yours, mine and that one are all that I can find. I see other dress watch black shields but no other skin divers.
