Stunned How Much I Love This Watch! Vaer S3 Traditional - 36mm Quartz
I had been wanting an Explorer type watch for a while and this one from Vaer was actually pretty low on my list.
The brand is great and have one of their Solar Field Watches that my wife bought me. But she loved this watch out of all the ones I had on my initial Explorer alternatives list.
In the end I'm so glad I picked this up used for $139!
The dial is great. Initially I did not like the hands and the patina look, but it looks great on the wrist and has some decent lume. It's super light and I forget I'm wearing it (until I remember and just start staring). It's also super readible.
The 36mm size is wonderful and I'm really getting used to the smaller size in general, especially with a 6.5 wrist.
Putting it on a leather strap really completed the package and now I don't want to take it off! It looked pretty good on the original black strap, and I had planned to put it on a nato, but I really don't want to take it off long enough to swap straps :p maybe next week ;)
Way to go Vaer on this one and another point to the wifey for picking out a winner.
Although I would still like to pickup up a Rolex Explorer, in part because of how light and heritage stlye this is, I'm really happy with this watch!

Well it's important to note that before March I only had two divers (autos, one I wore lots and got frustrated with and another that sat most of the time). But I flipped both and could afford my new collection (all 40mm)... The C5 Field Black Solar, the S5 Field White, and the C5 Korean War
