This might be the most difficult watch to operate on the planet. This was my first "luxury" watch purchase, and despite the hardships, she'll stay with me forever...
Why? Do you mean in terms of application? I had a Calibre S Regatta with the retrograde chronograph and it was a simple start/stop affair. If you didn’t know how to read the dial and bezel markings then it might just look like nonsense to the non-sailor.
Between setting the time, date and managing the chrono/laptimer its a headache. I think it would different if it was my only watch, but its not in my daily rotation, so i forget how to use it and need to go back and review videos and the user guide. Its just not intuitive, I mean they had to engrave the settings in the case back
