I tried on my future watch today, and some others

I have a deposit down on the SBGJ261 Peacock. The boutique has prototype units in, so I went to have a look. The Peacock is seriously blingy, almost bombastic. That blue is electric, and that shine on the 44GS case. The surprise was the green one. It didn't excite me seeing it online, but pictures just don't capture the depth of the dial.

Bremont was across the street, so I popped in to check it out. I don't know much about the brand, and I'm still not sure what I think, but this watch is kind of cool, the Stephen Hawking tribute. It's kind of gimmicky, there's a piece of Hawking's desk in the caseback. But it has a retrograde seconds hand, and it wore quite nicely on me, despite the 42mm case size. And Mom is a physicist, and I met Hawking once a couple of decades ago.

Anyway, had a bit of fun today, and now I eagerly await my new watch when it's finally actually released.

That SBGJ259 (Green Bamboo) would get my money if not for the second hand. I get what they were trying to do, but not enough contrast, but DAMN that dial is beautiful. Good pick up for someone who missed out on the SBGH269.

I think you mean the GMT hand. The seconds hand is just the standard silver needle. As the GMT hand, I think it works just fine. I'll pass on this, but I still want the SBGH269. If they ever released anything like that again, I'd be all over it. For now I'll stick with the SBGJ261.

That is what I get for looking at on my phone!  Cannot believe I missed that.  You are spot on, but I do still think something more contrasting would have been nice, but again, I know they were going for a bamboo forest.
