Who’s afraid of the stones?

Ok let’s get it all out on the table…I know many watch lovers are fearful that stone bracelets will scratch watch cases. Some choose to wear bracelet accessories on the other wrist to save the watch from any damage. Others resist the desire to acquire bracelets altogether (and admire from a distance while feeling “safe”).

Let me start by saying that I am working on a new design using leather to bind the stones in a manner that should eliminate the issue and allow my arrangements / designs to appeal to a wider audience.

However, I will also say that my steel Rolex watches show no signs of damage after wearing these bracelets every single day for five years and counting.

The stones are highly polished and no match for the steel case of a Submariner or DJ. The Thai silver elements are softer metal than steel. All appears well in order.

I would not wear my bracelets next two any precious metal watch cases as gold is quite soft and would likely show some visible wear.

But so far I don’t own any of those(😕) and am quite relaxed about the steel watches I wear being next to the bracelets.

I’m interested in everyone’s thoughts?

And I hope to offer the leather versions this year and avoid the debate 😃👍, but let’s go, give it to me baby.

I'd be interested in seeing your watch on a stone bracelet. Sounds cool

Using leather as a buffer is the same idea I use with my bracelets. To be honest I'm not worried about them damaging a SS case, I just dislike the occasional noise they make.

So I always use either a leather or fabric bracelet between the watch and stones. Today I'm wearing watch-leather-stones, and on the other wrist leather&metal bracelet-fabric-stones.

I'm interested to see how this would look. I enjoy finding alternative straps and bracelets to pair up with my watches (like many on here) so anything that offers variety is worth a punt to me.

Thanks for sharing this, I’ve got a design idea for leather in mind and will be happy to get reactions when it’s done 👍
