Invicta Pro Diver 'Bluesy'

I have never considered that I would ever buy an Invicta Pro Diver. But here we are. Feels nice on the wrist and actually looks really nice too. The two blue and gold is actually quite subtle.

PROS

Good looking

Solid build

Seiko nh35

40mm is a great size.

Cyclops isnt the clown size x3 zoom

Branding looks good considering theres a lot.

CONS

They've dropped the famous yellow rotor for an off the shelf nh35.

Bracelet push pins are way too tight, I actually used a pin hammer to get them out.

Some finishing issues, sharp lugs and sloppy brushing.

Pressed clasp

Packaging looks good but is very low quality.

Mineral Crystal

Its a thick watch

SHOULD YOU BUY ONE?

Yes and no. I think invicta are starting to cut corners with their pro divers. If you can pick one up for £60/70 Dollars and you want the invicta history, then yes. But any more than that price I'd suggest buy something else.

Pagani Design, Steeldive and Addiesdive produce models similar to this and the finishing, sapphire glass, insane lume (not pagani) put the invicta to shame. Its probably not a good idea for them to cut costs when everyone else is stepping up their game.

HOW I MIGHT IMPROVE THIS

I'm thinking about a sapphire crystal

New bracelet and clasp.

The Invicta cruises look like fun. And despite all the jokes on here, never have I ever seen a unhappy Invicta owner

Congratulations I say it more worth it then not to own but that’s just my opinion anyway.

Well, the bracelet on my Pro Diver was questionable, and I don't think Invicta has much of a service department. For the same price you can build a diver with better seals that the standard Pro Diver. Then again, given the prices on the grey market there is not a lot to argue about.

However, there is one thing I would like to note:

This is a picture of my Pro Diver case and crown. The crown tube consists only of threads, there is no recess to hold a gasket. The only gasket is in the crown, and will only work if the crown is fully screwed on.

This is the crown tube on an inexpensive AliExpress case, and there is another gasket about 2/3 down the tube, which will engage prior to the gasket in the crown making contact. My recent purchase of an SKX-style case for about $40 had two of these gaskets.

I don't know if Invicta has updated their cases in the last two years, I cannot speak to that.

Then again, there is this:

Thankfully, most people down look at the watch from that angle.

Hmm. Sounds to me that you need to book on a invicta cruise so you can drink too much and end up waking up to an especially hideous watch on your wrist

Each wrist

...I'd be more afraid who I'd wake up next to. 😂
