Paul Newman's "Paul Newman" Rolex Daytona

I love movies but I was most excited when seeing this famous timepiece in close distance. The owner of this watch has kindly make it available for display at the museum, arranged by Rolex.
This piece was sold at auction for $17.8 millions in 2017. It is really crazy but this is the pinnacle of this silly watch collecting hobby we are part of. Here is an article in 2017 reporting the sale of this watch.

Yeah, it is a new museum that opened just last year. There are a lot to see if you like movies. There is a car museum right next to it and they are showing cars used in the James Bond movies, among many cool cars. It will be fun day trip from where you are :)
Good to see it is being displayed. However, it does not mean that the Academy actually bought it, it is just being exhibited there.
In fact, Rolex is a “Founding Supporter” of the museum and has arranged for the watch to be displayed.
It might just be that Rolex bought the Daytona.
