Tempore Lux Racing One Chronograph

I had the pleasure of picking up this new watch in person last Monday and I haven't taken it off since.

It is the latest offering from micro brand Tempore Lux Watches, which happens to be based here in Mallorca.

You might be able to imagine how special it is to be given a watch by its creator, David Ramírez. Adding to this, every Racing One is assembled and adjusted by my usual watchmaker, Miguel Á. Martinez from S’Hora des Rellotge.

You will know that unique feeling that “watch addicts” enjoy when acquainting themselves with a new timepiece...

The Racing One has decidedly “racing” and “vintage” aesthetics. Highlights include its handsome cushion case, the white (silver) sunray dial with black subregisters (known as the “panda” configuration), and the beautifully finished and decorated mechanical caliber ST1901.

The package overall, though, offers all the quality and guarantees of a modern day watch.

The watch and an additional handcrafted strap cost €469, taking advantage of the “Early Bird” price from the Kickstarter campaign.

It's pricier now, yet unlike the watches purchased during the Kickstarter campaign, the Racing One can now be had very soon, while backers had to wait almost 10 months for their watches due to the well-known problems with the global supply chains.

For what I paid, I believes I got a great watch and am particularly proud to have supported the work of Tempore Lux and S'Hora des Rellotge, two local firms.

Now I has a “panda” in the watchbox! 😊
