@lesslucid@melvasaur There is some buzz over Tissot's High-tech Escapement in their Powermatic 80 engines. Basically the issue is that the escapement wheel and pallet fork are made of cheap plastic! This leads us to question "Is the movement serviceable or disposable?" !!! ๐ค

Fair enough, I never saw that discussion, makes more sense now! Thanks for sharing.
I don't really follow tissot but the powermatic 80 is popping up in a lot more Swatch group watches. I was looking at a Certina at one point. And if anything I was put off because I don't value power reserve that highly, and they seem to have sacrificed a few things in the movement to achieve this.

After further research, it turns out there are several levels of Powermatic 80 movements. Some use regular escapements and some use plastic! I have no way of knowing what level of Powermatic engine is in my Seastar. ๐คฏ

If you're thinking of disposing of it, let me know, I can help with that... ๐
Strange thing to say! Do you mean you're thinking of selling?

Thanks Danilo! Have you heard/read about Tissot's Powermatic 80 engines? ๐คจ
Don't the Tissot PRX's have the same concern. It's been discussed for quite some time.
