I inherited it and had restored. Now I am looking for the background. I am thinking g 58?

I’m not an expert but it looks like a 1960s era Omens Seamaster De Ville to me. It’s a beauty, that’s for sure.

If you, or your watchmaker, remove the back you would find the reference there. With the serial number on the movement you can roughly date it. My guess is that it is the Seamaster Calendar ref 2849.

1960 seems about right. Databases such as Omega Addict have very few Seamaster Calendars.

I think you are right. Yeah. We will it off but the watchmaker didn’t take a pic. I’ll post what he wrote down

Definitely NOT a DeVille, I would say. But a stone cold killer classic from the late 50s. I have a very similar model (1957 with caliber 503 rotor automatic), but not with those lovely broad arrows. Love it!

Beautiful. I. Used to wearing a modern Seamaster. Getting used to the size. Question is, can I pull it off with a 7.5" wrist. I think 36mm looks small on me!

What I got from the watchmaker:

Calibre 503

same in both models thrown up in this thread

Not so fast, #christopherisjustabitoff

Look at the indices, the 1960 is a closer match.

Bah… same calibre, same thing. It’s easy to find, it’s on their website, even I can do it half-assed on a Tuesday.

Thanks. Re. The size on your wrist: Looks good to me. I'd say leave it on for a while and I'll bet you'll start to think larger watches look kinda goofy 🙂 If not, let me know and I'll take it off your hands gladly ;)
