PRX?!

PRX owners, help a brother out. For a fun piece with seemingly good value for money, would you buy again?!

I would personally buy again. I got the delugs CTS rubber to switch up the straps and it adds a lot of versatility. People will say that the movement isn't worth the money because of the plastic in the escapement but it is a great movement that keeps amazing time (who cares if they have to swap out the movement in 10+ years). You'll probably hear people say get the Tsoyosa instead but the finishing on the prx beats it all day plus the bracelet is excellent.

I’m a little mixed on that watch. I love the look and finish quality. I believe the uproar over the plastic part is way overblown ( what would a car be without plastic parts?) I have a 19cm wrist and the watch does overhang a little. Not my favorite look :( I think I admirer it more in the watch box and not on the wrist

I had the blue dial, I never warmed up to it and sold it. When the ice blue came out I thought THAT is the one. Bought it, never warmed up to it, sold it. Would I buy again? Yes, but also no.

lol, can’t we all relate

You really have to love the design. If you do, the watch will keep on giving. (Everything else is fairly typical for an entry-level watch.) I was a teenager in the 80s, so it worked for me. If looking at the watch doesn't give you the warm fuzzies right away, it's probably not for you.

Only the Quartz… but If you try the Powermatic 80!auto and the size fits then and only then would I get it again, but the size is very deceiving. Tissot 40 doesn’t look the same( on my wrist 7”) as seiko or citizen 40 inch.

I think the new Tsuyosa Small Seconds and the NJ0180 are better value watches and look more interesting to me right now, so I would buy those if I had to pick today.

However, looks are subjective and if you prefer the aesthetics of the PRX, it doesn't matter which is the better watch in the end. Buy what you like best (within reason), not the better value.

I haven’t sold a watch yet. I want to but have anxiety to do so. Where is everyone selling?

Where do you sell? I’m trying learn more about selling.

I sell through someone on YouTube who does a consignment sale. I don’t get top dollar but I also don’t have to do anything but send him the items and collect the proceeds.

I was PRX-curious, but not enough to pay full price so I dug one up on eBay. It’s a quartz model with the great brushed silver dial. I prefer the dial to the waffle pattern of the autos and considering I don’t wear it often it’s well worth the money. It’s a very nice watch but it’s a bit loud for me some days. The bracelet is the sell point on the PRX, it plays with light pretty aggressively.

Additionally the original 70s designs were all quartz so that just feels the way to go for me.
