You can get a vintage mechanical Hamilton for half the cost that will run just fine. For less than that you can get an vintage Elgin or a Bulova. For practically nothing you can get a vintage Benrus tank.
eBay has tons of a very reasonable vintage Hamilton’s. You can get some really cool looking art deco pieces for $4-500.
Check out rotary if you want something you can use without worry. If you just want to wear it occasionally, look for vintage from the likes Hamilton, Bulova, Elgin, Benrus.
Vintage on eBay or Etsy. Look at the Sanda Tank on AliExpress you can buy both sizes for about $20 and see which case size you like. Other than that, Seiko tank is a great option.
