SOTC // From Sternglas to Cartier

It all started with the Sternglas Naos about two years ago. Now my collection is a mixture of "entry level" watches, Chinese homages, Microbrands and (for my budget) luxury pieces. Next stop will be a "Made in Germany" watch like Sinn or Nomos.

There's a lot in there to love and yes you've got a wide spectrum of tiers. Do any of the homages punch above their weight?

Amazing collection! Just wondering how short the honeymoon phase must be if you managed to get all those in 2 years!

In my opinion, every homage in this pictures is excellent value for the money. The Paganis are the "normal Aliexpress stuff". You get the copycat look, sapphire glass and a reliable NH35. But the bracelets and the lume are mostly not good. But apart from the Spirit clone all were under 100€. So even the Paganis "punch above their weight". The San Martin and Baltanys are really good quality and are as good as everything from Switzerland up to 1000€. And then there is the "Sanda" (the Tank clone). It's very lightweight and the buckle sucks but was only 16€ (sixteen! including shipping from China). I bought it to get the feeling for the Tank style - and you see what happened. But even now there are days I prefer the Sanda over the Cartier (which was ca. 20 times the price) because it's slightly bigger and I don't fear scratches.

Apart from the some of the Paganis I'm still very attached to every one of them. Some of the watches I bought for a specific use. For instance the blue/white/orange Pagani diver is only for the vacation at the sea so I don't mind the salt water and sand. Or the bronze San Martin to match a favorite ring. But I wear all the watches regularly and some are still in the "honeymoon phase" for over a year (for instance both Baltics and Longines' or the 8-Bit brew).

Can recommend Sinn, alot of bang for your buck. Have a mother of pearl black dial myself. The Nomos line is just so fun and interesting. From their Orions to their Zurich worldtimers to their club campus stuff. Almost can't go wrong 👍
