At the beginning of my journey, as a watch enthusiast, I was interested in watches in general with an emphasis on old watches.
During the time I happened to meet a watchmaker of the kind you don't meet anymore. Those who studied many years ago not in school but with a watchmaker who taught them about every part, every dial and every mechanism.
This watchmaker one day saw me walking around with an old Citizen I found in the market (a317089-4) and asked me where I got this watch from (the conversation was around 2005). After I told him I bought it at the market he told me I had made a deal of a lifetime.

I think citizen watches are great! They pack a lot of technology in some of their watches that make them truly unique. But they are also making a lot of quality automatic watches and let's not forget about their chronomaster line, those are right up there with the best of them.
On average citizen is the brand I've been most happy with. Two of my top three watches I own are citizen.
I am definitely a fan of Citizen and their many brands.
