Watch of the Day

1917 Elgin 0 sized Trench Watch with original bold military drilled enamel dial, and original hands. Housed in a very rare semi-hermetic, swivel lug, Illinois Watch Case Co case. This case has "Pat. Pending" stamped on the case back indicating it was a very early case example from before the 1918 patent was issued. Fully re-lumed with vintage tinted C3 lume. What a gorgeous example of an early Elgin Trench Watch!

I was able to find this one in very poor condition. The dial, movement, and case were all meticulously restored back to original condition. I specialize in WW1 to WW2 vintage watch restoration. I regularly sell restored pieces on eBay at: eBay.com/usr/mrbeerandwatch . I'll have a new batch for auction next week.

If you want something like this but in a moder, more manageable form, Vario is hands-down the best place to go. They make stunning homages (in the normal sense) to trench watches. 10/10
