Very nice! Has this been serviced before? Seeing the patina around the indices like that has me thinking moisture. Although patina gives character it can also be a tell tale sign of bad gaskets.
Yes it has been serviced. These 16800 dials have a history of doing some unusual things like going completely Matt to having a “sponge” like surface. My dial, when held up to the sun, looks almost completely Matt as opposed to glossy ( which is how they came) and I assume this is a natural change around the gold surrounds. Otherwise, I would expect the moisture damage would have a more random placement rather than being localized in this way. It looks like beginning or very limited sponge effect, which has been well documented. Vintage watches are not without their idiosyncrasies.
