Collecting

This is Jim and want to start a Casio g-shock square face collection. I’ve had all the watches in the past from Patek’s, Rolex’s, AP’s you name it. I had to liquidate everything to pay for my years of medical expenses. I’m going back to basics and my first watch was a 1983 g-shock. I want to collect g-shock square faces again just because it’s old school. I need so much help with guiding me on the models to buy. I’m going to wear them not my style. Solar tough seems good, atomic clock is a bonus and ability to change original strap to a NATO is my dream. I can save for a few months but don’t need limited editions or titanium or metal cases. I know this is a lot but I’ve never had the courage to reach out for help. I’m not mentally challenged I just have to gain information. I’ve been on this site for about a week and don’t know how to use it to gain information. I thank all of you that takes the time to help a man in need. I am embarrassed because I can’t figure this site out but I need help. Any caring people that help would be so appreciated. Thanks for your time. Jim

I hope you are well now. Here's a resource guide for gshocks. It may help.

I appreciate the link but I’m overwhelmed and don’t know where to start

Thanks for the link, I’ll be busy for awhile. All the best jim

Sorry to bother everyone but what do the 1jf at the end of the watch description mean?

·

Hi Jim. Squares can be addicting. When I was deep down the rabbit hole, I found this guy on YouTube. He has a lot of other videos but this is a good one to see numerous versions. Have fun!

Google is a fantastic tool. The guy who answered your question on the 1jf model number issue just googled something like this to answer it for you.

As for using this site to gain information on your interest - here’s a tip:

  1. Tap the Home icon on the bottom left of the screen. Then tap the search icon on the top left of the screen. This is where you can search for specific topics, watch brands, etc.

  2. Type Gshock and tap the #gshock in the middle of the results page

3. When people make Gshock-related posts and add #gshock to them, they’ll be included in this “gshock thread” that you can access and browse. In order to receive updates and access this thread more easily, tap Follow.

Between Google searches, YouTube videos, Shockbase queries and WatchCrunch threads, I think you have the tools you need to start collecting. If anything, feel free to reach out if you have more questions. Happy hunting, friend.
