"Ernst Wagner founded the Uhrenfabrik Ernst Wagner in Pforzheim in 1933. He began production under the brand Erwa (composed of Ernst Wagner). Wristwatches and cases were made. Among other things, the UROFA Glashütte caliber 58 spatial movement was installed in Wagner watches. The company later became a general partnership (O.H.G).
In the 1950s, Wagner cases were also delivered to VEB Uhren and Maschinenfabrik Ruhla for the Präzisa movement family and to VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe (GUB) for the GUB 28 & GUB 28.1 calibers as well as for the entire GUB 60 & GUB 62 movement family.
In the 1960s, the company was part of a production group comprising several manufacturers called Epora."
