Gold coated battery
I was replacing my Y911 battery and to my suprise the former battery was gold colored. I did a search and found some JDM Maxell battery labeled as gold coated. I am unsure if this is for matching the movement or has a functional purpose.

Gold does conduct electricity better than some of the other metals used, but the cost generally isn't worth the small bit of benefit.
I'd guess it's mostly to match the movement.
