Best Way To Measure Wrist?

I've never officially or unofficially measured my wrist. I just took a thin strip of paper and wrapped it around my wrist and marked where it overlapped. It measured 7.75" - is this an accurate way to measure at home without proper measuring device or is there a better, more accurate way?

TIA!

This is how Omega tells you to do it. I can't find it at the moment, but they had at one point a printable ruler you could use.

Sometimes, the simple ways are the best.

I may re-do it when my wife get's home. Kinda tricky doing it yourself. Also, should I pull it together snug or just leave it just touching, or does it not really matter?

Kinda surprised it came out to almost an 8" wrist. That doesn't seem right.

I used the soft tape measure from the Mrs sowing box.

I was looking for that, pretty sure we have one but, couldn't find it.

Zenith have it. Google ‘zenith watches sizing guide’

I taped one end of a shoelace to my wrist pulled tightly touching end to end before measuring. At Breitling they have a measure that always makes the bracelets too loose for my liking. The nice lady shows me the measure despite my dissatisfaction with the adjustment. A strap or bracelet needs to be a touch less than the measure in my opinion.

But imo, the wide of your wrist is more important, watches with lug to lug smaller than your wrist wide will fit better 😁😁😁

Great point! I'll have to measure that as well.
