Loose part

So… I felt like wearing my Fossil watch, took it out of the drawer and noticed that the little rim that’s around the left dial came off and it’s flying around the watch face as I move the watch. Is this something that a local watch repair place can fix and is it worth it? Or is this something I should attempt to do myself, as in just take it out completely all together?

If you have the right tools and experience, try repairing it. Otherwise, leave it to the professionals to fix.

I agree that, should you have a case back tool, accessing the dial should be fairly simple. You'd need more skill than I to attempt krazy glue. I'd press it back on, or if that doesn't hold just live without it as it doesn't look particularly worse with the ring gone.

Where would one get such adhesive? I have no experience nor the proper tools, but I’ve fixed other things before without such.

I agree it, it doesn’t look so bad without it. I might try it. Just need to open the back case. Don’t have the proper tool tho. I’ll see what I can find around the house. I might just leave the part out all together. I wouldn’t want to get crazy glue all over the watch face. The watch is still in really good condition considering I’ve had it for 7+ years.

I forgot to ask. If I don’t have the tool to open the back what is the best alternative? Pair of needle nose pliers?

Thanks for the advise. I don’t think I’ll be attempting it myself. And that watch opener is as much as the watch was when I got it 7+ years ago lol oh boy… ok off to look for a local watch maker. Thanks 👍

I did it. Electricians scissors and a safety pin to remove the crown. Removed the loose circle. Problem solved! Watch is now on my wrist as we speak! 😃
