Draken Peregrine 2024 edition

Hey WatchCrunch!

Draken is excited to announce the relaunch of the Peregrine pilot watch. This is a model we first produced in 2018. V1 was a great design, but had several shortcomings, notably the height at 15.25mm. The V2 Peregrine has been completely redesigned to create a more wearable, functional tool watch.

At the core is a Miyota 9 series with power reserve complication. The power reserve indicator (PRI) was a key feature of the original and we wanted to keep it for V2. By default, this is shown at 12h, but we wanted to avoid any conflict with the logo or triangle dots marker in this area. Thus we decided to rotate the movement 180°, bringing the PRI to 6h, neatly integrated into the minute track.

The case is now 42mm in diameter, 12.75mm thick, 22mm lugs and 49mm lug to lug. We kept the display case back to show off the pristine high-beat movement, and switched the finish of the 316L stainless steel to brushed, aligning with the Aoraki model of early-2023. A key feature is of course the LHD knurled crown. Water resistance is 100m.

The dial will come in 2 designs, and 2 finishes:

  • Version 1. This is the original Peregrine design, with an Explorer-style layout and big 12, 3, 9 numerals. Applied indices for the batons filled with BGW9. Available in matte, sunburst or full-lume.

  • Version 2. A traditional Flieger type-A design with numerals for all the hours and the triangle/dots marker at 12h. Applied square indices at each hour. Available in matte and sunburst.

There will also be two band options, bracelet or sailcloth:

  • Bracelet. Brushed and tapering from 22mm to 18mm for a lighter more casual look. A new clasp featuring sturdy double pushers and 5 micro-adjust positions. Quick-release spring bars.

  • Sailcloth. Olive with 22mm to 20mm taper. Leather backed with a signed buckle and quick-release spring bars.
