7 day review with this green dial chrono

I haven’t worn any other watch since this watch arrived in the mail last Tuesday. When I opened the box, just didn’t stop looking at it and wore it for the whole week unintentionally.

As a watch predominantly online (AliX) and being sold offline in a different city, I took a gamble buying it off specs found online as photos and videos are surprisingly scarce. Couldn’t complain all too much though

First thing I did was swap out the strap. It came with a very stiff nylon strap I put on a different watch in the watch roll so it could loosen up. But I also had this custom local made strap by HNMD Straps that I just loved the color way. The style also fits perfectly with the watch.

Stiff strap, odd lugs, and non screw down pushers are the main gripes

I’ll start with some gripes I’ve had, firstly the odd lug shape. I’ve always hade very straight or singular curved lugs, but this watch has a sort of bulge for a lug. Maybe to make the lug to lug shorter but nonetheless it was the first thing that caught my eye as a negative. Secondly the pushers are great with a vintage aesthetic but it’s too easy to accidentally push. This results in the chrono moving non stop as it doesn’t immediately stop at the 30 min mark like some watches do, then suddenly my watch just stopped mid day as I believe the chrono does take up a lot of power.

With that out of the way, the dial, case size, overall look and design (which I appreciate the most) are excellent. There are so many chronographs around, the Q Timex, Seiko Speedtimer, but mostly are quartz, or solar quartz around the price range of this Sugess. Also the green dial design is quite unique (though maybe just color way wise) as the most similar is a Tag Heuer Carrera I’ve found.

The aesthetic of the watch and the tone of green bring this watch above and beyond the gripes for me

To conclude this short week with the watch, it’s a keeper for me. I guess there is so much talk about the ST1901 movement and how it’ll be expensive to service (hoping it would be affordable for me in Indonesia) but I do feel this watch is deserved for a service and to keep for a long long time. Honestly couldn’t stop looking at my wrist and photographing the watch this whole week. Don’t know whether I’d swap out for another watch tomorrow but let’s look into the watch box for tomorrow. Highly recommend this watch and hoping to produce a video review on it.

Thanks for reading!
