I finally got my hands on a Citizen diver watch

As a Seiko fanboy, I never really considered adding a Citizen diver to my collection. However, after a negotiation, I ended up owning one. And let me tell you, after just two days of wearing it, I can confidently say that I've been missing out all these years.

I still have a lot to learn about this watch, and I plan on doing my research in the coming week, but AFAIK, this watch belongs to Citizen's entry-level automatic diver's lineup. And honestly, I can't understand why some people would recommend spending $500 on an SKX when this beauty costs less than $200. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore my SKX009, but there's something about this Citizen that just feels superior in a few ways.

Perhaps it's the freshness of the ownership talking, but I can't wait to see if this feeling persists after a few more days on my wrist. Stay tuned for updates!

Honestly, spending $50 on a Casio Duro is more watch than anyone will ever need. Unfortunately, the beast must be fed and it lives off our watch addiction…and Seiko is one of the main courses.

These Citizen NYpromaster series are fantastic value for money.

For years they were in the shadow of the Seiko SKX007/9

It’s only since they discontinued the 007 and the homages filled the gap with better specifications than the original 007 that people have realised what a great alternative the Citizens are, and of course you can still get them.

I absolutely agree! The Casio Duro is an incredible value for a diver watch. However, if you're looking for an automatic watch, I believe the Citizen Promaster Diver is a great option.

I couldn't agree more! I've owned a few homage watches myself, and while they may not be as creative as some of the original designs, they can be a great value for the money. However, when it comes to build quality and the feeling of owning a well-made watch, it's hard to beat some of the big brands like Citizen. Specs, in numbers, aren't everything.

It's a wonderful watch. A modern classic, still in production and has a military connection if that's your cup of tea - issued to the Italian Navy and costs a fair bit less than a Panerai. Also super comfy to wear.

I am a recent Casio convert. I've now gifted a few automatic and Echo-Drive watches. Always a big hit! I love mine . Seiko has it's place in my collection. I'll be buying a Citizen before another Seiko.
