Rolex Titanium - Is it great?

I was fortunate enough to see and try on the new Rolex Yachtmaster 42 in the new titanium. At first glance, it was a darker "stainless" looking timepiece in the case. Once it was pulled out of the case, I was awestruck. It felt like nothing.

I have read and seen videos where people claim it feels fake. Totally true. Everything I knew about Rolex had just gone out the window. Putting on my wrist, it made a completely new sound from the bracelet. More of a ceramic on ceramic bracket, nothing like steel. It's warm feeling case, and bracelet felt wonderful on the wrist. No more cold steel waiting to warm up. No weight.

All I was thinking was spectacular. Until I turned it over to see the price. This shocked me more that the watch itself. I couldn't believe the price. More than an all gold piece.

Price ignored, It really was something I would absolutely buy, at Retail. Unfortunately after speaking with my AD, he told me to hang on for long ride. It's still something totally different from Rolex, and I do want to give them props for doing it.

Titanium is great but I do like to feel like there's something on my wrist, I sort of miss the weight

when I'm not wearing a watch when I wake up

My AD hasn't received any of these yet. I've been told these will be few and far between and they are very popular being the first go around in new metal. Curious if I'll get a call...

I like it, but you're right, on the grey market these are ridiculously expensive! At retail, it aint that bad.
