Orient - Owned by Epson or Seiko?

More just for my own curiousity. They are quality watches. But I've heard they are owned by Epson or Seiko several time and I find conflicting accounts online. Anyone know for sure?

All three are heavy hitters from Japan they all make good watches they done a great impact in the watch world. I just can't imagine anybody not liking any of these brands. But yes you right Epson/Seiko and Orient.

To my understanding, Orient is own by Epson Seiko, although they operate completely independent of each other. I have a deep fondness, and appreciation for Seiko. I even bought my girlfriend a Seiko today. But putting prices aside; My work beaters are Orients, Casios, and 1 Citizen. I just prefer everything about Orient over their big brother Seiko, but that boils down to my personal taste, and nothing more.
