New Seiko SPB395 on the Timegrapher

It did OK, exactly what you'd expect from these Seiko 6R movements (it has the 6R24). It performed slightly better than its sister watch, my SBP397 (Arita porcelain dial, 6R27 movement). Looking at all four main positions, it varired between +6 to +15 seconds per day. Amplitude was between 247 and 276 degrees. Beat error was between 0.1ms and 0.4ms. FYI, lift angle is 52 degrees based on "The Internet". Hopefully that's right, as "The Internet" told me that the SBP397/6R2 had a lift angle of 53 degrees.

Accuracy is one of the reasons a haven’t pulled the trigger on this one.

The 6R movements is the only reason that my SPB397 and SPB395 aren't my favorite watches over my Bulgari Octo Finissimo, Breitling pistachio chronograph, and Grand Seiko SBGA493. The way I look at it, Seiko clearly chose to spend the money on the case and dials, which are stunning. If they put a fancier, more precise movement in these watches, the price would be way higher than the $1850 retail. Even with the relatively mundane movements, I may still like them better than the Bulgari and Breitling. How I feel about that depends on the day.

I'm with ya! I will happily relax on accuracy if I love how a watch looks and/or wears. My 6R is a never ever sell. Seiko kills it on cases and dials. Congrats on the new one.

I'm off to Japan again this coming summer and will be undoubtedly be adding something similar while I'm there
