[SOTC] End of 2023 Update
Ending 2023 with a state of collection post, like everyone else!
Black Bay 58 Going on 2 years now with this one. It was one of my grails and I still love it. I’ll probably never sell it and hand it down to my oldest son some day.
PRX 35 Auto This watch replaced my smiley Black Bay 36. I found that watch too heavy for its size and fairly boring. It was my first grail and I was obsessed with it. I just found myself falling out of love with it and noticing more flaws. When the PRX Auto came out in 35mm I gave it a try. I fell in love with it. Thinner shorter links made the weight way less and the fit more comfortable. The bracelet and case I found more interesting than the standard oyster style of the BB36. Its itched my want for a vintage Datejust for 10x less. I just wore this to the birth of my youngest son a few days ago and I intend on passing it down to him one day.
Grand Seiko SBGW231 I wanted a dedicated dress watch from a non Swiss brand to get some diversity. I love Seiko, they are my favorite affordable brand. A Grand Seiko just made too much sense. I don’t wear this one a lot since I don’t dress up much. But when I do I’m reminded how beautiful it is. The price on the second hand market is insane for the quality. Definitely hanging on to this one especially now that it seems like it’ll be discontinued next year.

Everyone needs a G-Shock. This is mine. I love the smaller size and the strap is super soft and comfortable.
Casio F91W & A168WG Iconic fun digital Casios. They are too much fun not to have them!
Not pictured Casio W800 Daily beater basically a lighter weight smaller G-Shock. Super tough and easy to read.
Future plans are probably just to keep this collection how it is for awhile. I don’t have a long term grail at the moment. An older Datejust (2000s) was a possibility but the PRX filled that want for me. I’m pretty satisfied honestly.

Thanks! I could have just bought one more expensive watch and I’ve thought about doing that. But I work a labor intensive job so I need a Casio beater and the mechanicals I have punch way above their price tags so I can still have some versatility of multiple styles!
