Any Scurfa fans out there?

Received this D1-500 Titanium from England a couple weeks ago and I’m really enjoying it.  It’s built like a tank and wears well for a thick (14.4mm)...

Early 90s Tag Heuer 1500

Granite dial,  approximately 39mm, reference 959.706G. Ronda quartz is keeping fantastic time after 3 decades!

Interesting comments, very thought-provoking.

It seems obvious to me that only large-scale economic disengagement with Russia (and China  imo) would make a real difference. Meaning large corporations and energy companies . But in America the dollar is almighty and if they’re making money you’ll probably never see that.

Anything we could do would be for own consciences, and that’s very important on a personal level too!

Beautiful condition and nice photo too!

The Grey NATO podcast this week is about quartz and grab-and-go was one of their favorite things about them. I enjoy their podcast.

Haha there’s a lotta slobber love for them apparently. Probably because they’re still ticking away like an old Volvo.
Feels like affection is building for old Swiss quartz watches, maybe because the valuations of mechanicals has gone bonkers?

I had to look up Kimi, I know the name of course but it was not easy back then to watch Formula 1 in the States! Back then only with a satellite dish probably?

Ah you were lucky 🍀 Someday I’ll send mine to Tag Heuer for a restoration to see what they can do.

I just looked up the 4000, that’s when they moved the logo to the top of the bezel, very cool!

Thanks very much! Believe it or not, 1500s in good shape are going for about twice what they were originally, and they’re tough to find in good shape. I know you can send vintage Tags to Switzerland for restoration, which I plan on doing eventually. Oris posts videos of their restoration jobs and it’s pretty incredible what they can do.

The bracelet IS so comfortable.

Thanks a lot! I don’t think Tag Heuer ever used it again after the 1500. It really does look good in the light.
