From hate to love. A redemption story.
I bought this Hamtun Nanok a few years ago. The buying experience wasn’t that great (maybe the manufacturer was going through hard times?) and when I did receive it, the bracelet was very poor.
As such, this piece just sat in one of my watch boxes unused and definitely unloved.
Then I discovered Marine Nationale (MN) straps.
I put one in this watch and it came to life for me. Enough time had passed to sooth sore feelings and allowed me to enjoy this unique piece for what it is; A solid mid sized field watch with a day date function.
Any other redemption arcs out there?
I have been collecting watches for over 30 years. I like expensive watches, inexpensive watches, vintage watches, homage watches and everything in between!

I have always wanted a Hamtun but believe personal issues ended the brand, but still keep an eye out for them on the bay. It looks great on that strap hope it now gives you many years of joy!
