When I was a kid, I had always wanted a calculator watch.

I’m sure Back to the Future and other popular media at the time played a role, but the thought of having a calculator justifiably on you at all times (in a pre-smartphone world) was also super appealing to grade school me.
My parents would always tell me they were too expensive.

Flash forward to college. I was moments away from walking into a store and picking one up… but ended up getting matching Pebble smartwatches (goodness, remember those!?) with my partner at the time.

Flash forward one final time, to Christmas 2021 in my childhood home, and my parents finally gifted me that calculator watch, in the form of a CA-53WF-2B, in a neat navy blue with negative display.

Gotta say, it’s been worth the wait!
