Vaer G5 Meridian Navy/Black - 39mm USA GMT
I was initially concerned the watch might be a little too tall, but I was wrong. Some watches maybe, but not this one. The blue on the bezel is dark, which I like. If this color combo is called a Batman, this one is a Dark Knight. At 39mm wide its height gives the watch the wrist presence I think it needs. I have a 7-inch wrist and it fits wonderfully. It is very comfortable and does not feel top heavy. The closest thing I can compare it to in fit and feel is a Seiko SKX013. The design language, finishing and quality are superb. The lume is near impossible to improve on and the true traveler GMT movement does adjust the date forward and backward when utilizing the hours hand to change local time. Customer service was outstanding as I made a bracelet change before my initial order shipped. Nothing but good things to say here, and I certainly could go on. I will be traversing three continents and crossing 19 time zones multiple times next month and the G5 GMT will be on the wrist and not in a watch roll. Vaer nailed it with this American Assembly GMT.
I own everything from the Casio F-91W to Swiss lux and enjoy them all immensely. I particularly enjoy regulating my less expensive mechanical and automatic watches.
