Ègard watches: opinions?

I've seen their adds all over YouTube and other social media platforms. I've glanced at the website and had a look at their offerings. Most of watches they make seem to be on the huge side w/ a few very garish and off putting. They state that everything is made in-house, but after some research I have found that most of their watches are made in China (with the exception of the tourbillon which is made in the US). One thing I have noticed is that the owner and founder of this brand likes to use his company and his Ègard website to push his political views

I remember taking a look at Egard watches after seeing a video on YouTube. Most of their designs didn't really appeal to me, so I never really did any research on the company or the owner. The designs struck me much as Diesel, many Invicta, and Richard Mille designs do. I am not a big fan of that over-industrialized aesthetic, and their more classic designs are nothing really inspired. Also, the tourbillon they are using is the Hangzhou tourbillon movement available on AliExpress; the watch is assembled in the US, not made in the US. 😀

has anyone had an experience with this?

Egard resells Chinese movements and cases. The movement pictured is a JHLS32, which Invicta sells in a number of Venom Reserve watches, for example:

Egard has come up with a unique watch style, 'tis true. Is it worth the $450 asking price?

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If one loves the watch, nothing wrong with it.

My experience, however, shows that one can spend too much money on inexpensive watches. $450 is one-third the way to a gently used Omega Aqua Terra quartz.
