Zeppelin

I'm interested in buying from this brand and branching off to something new and this caught my attention. Does anyone have (which I am sure someone does lol) this one in particular or in a different color? Let me know what you think about this particular model cause this looks like a great edition to my collection even though I believe a chronograph should be on a metal or rubber/silicone strap not on a leather band but I'll make the exception this one time

I don't own this watch, but it is a fairly typical POINTtec product, which is a German company that is the production backbone of quite a number of brands, often based on non-watch related brands (like this one). They also make a lot of watches targeting online shopping channels.

That being said, they certainly have a reputation for delivering solid consumer watches. The Rhonda quartz movement is also fairly standard, and I would not expect any surprises.

If you can get it at a decent price I'd go for it. The only thing you won't get is heritage.

I can attest to that!

It’s a thrustworthy quartz movement, and the watch is beautiful itself.

I have the metal bright dial variant, sometimes wear it with a leather nato strap.

Awesome watch for the money, has that luxury feel despite it’s affordable price.

Although Zeppelin makes affordable watches in big productions, they are always worth a second look.

Zeppelin, or PointTec, does make really passionful enthusiast watches and take their duty serious.

They should not be confused with other cheap fashion brands

Their designs are always exquisit. I never saw any bulls... They always do follow the classical and historical design rules

Mostly they do follow the 1930's/40's Flieger designs.

Of course due to the prices your expectations should be adjusted to it. Don't expect a Patek for 300 Euro. Their glasses are usually K1 hardend mineral. I've talked to one of their managers at a watch fair and it made totally sense why. They want to offer great authentic designs. Especially with the shiny domed christals. Domed sapphires are more complicated to produce and therefore much more expensive, which doesn't fit to their product and pricing policy and the expectations of tgeir customers. But tge results are great. It's just simply a joy for the eyes.

They also select their movements very well.

The Ronda movements are quite solid in that price range.

And all those chronos I had in my hands did hit every single second index.

PointTec did also purchased few years before the traditional manufacturer Ruhla and do use their production facilities to manufacture their watches by themself. So even very affordable watches, but they produce all watches inhouse in Ruhla (name of the company and village) germany.

What should be considered and honored aswell: They never did copy any watch. Inspired...yes...which is ok and actuallythe true definition of "homage". But always using their own design languages. An effort that less brands do due to the costs .

Zeppelin watches makes just so much fun and I become a real sucker for them. You can build up a great collection for quite less money. Here in germany you can find them easily with discount. But even the origibal price is worth it.

Love this brand. I recently posted about a Zeppelin that I regretfully sold 😞 https://www.watchcrunch.com/tonysutherland/posts/zeppelin-memories-271833
